S I C K ! F E S T I V A L 2024
SAFE! by the SICK Festival Young Ambassadors in collaboration with artists Ria Righteous and Rachel Shore. Build and technical support by M3 Industries.
SAFE! was a project about community, for the community and developed by the community. It asked the people of Moston, Harpurhey and Charlestown, Manchester what it meant to them to feel SAFE and opened up the discussion through art and an open installation as part of SICK! Festival 2024.
In collaboration with artist Ria Righteous, the SICK! Festival Young Ambassadors developed a brief informed by community events and discussions. The brief was delivered to Rachel to develop a design for an open installation reflecting the community's voices.
The piece stood in Harpurhey Shopping Centre for the duration of the Festival in May 2024.
